All about Misha

Funny things that Misha does:

Backs her butt into you so you'll scratch it for her.

Whines at you until you move out of her favorite spot on the couch.

Wipes her face on our blankets in the morning.

When Ryan and I are watching TV, not paying attention to her, she'll sit her 60-pound butt right on us so that we can't see the TV. And she doesn't just sit on your lap...she sit's on your chest.

Boxes with her two front paws. When she plays w/ other dogs she even boxes them to try to get them to play with her.

Bounces off the ground w/ her front paws when she's trying to get a smaller dog to play w/ her.

Insists on sitting with the rest of the family, even when she could have a whole couch to herself

Wiggles her whole back end when she's excited to see you.

Sounds like a monkey when she whines.

Gets random spurts of energy where she'll run around like crazy all over the house. We call this "crazy legs" because of the way she spreads all her legs out so she's close to the ground while she's running. It's pretty funny.

Throws her toys and then chases after them.

If you cover yourself with a blanket, she'll try to dig you out. It's actually quite painful sometimes...

We trained her to ring a bell when she wants to go outside. Worked like a charm for a while until she started abusing it. Too smart for her own good.

Puts her head on the table and stares at you until you give her what she wants.

Part of the Boxer breed is that they have underbites. Well, occasionally Misha's jowels will get caught and then you can see her bottom teeth sticking out. It makes me laugh everytime.

Ryan and I eat at the coffee table most nights and it drives Misha insane. I think it's because the food is so close and it kills her! So when we're eating, she will paw at us and rest her head on the arm you're trying to eat with to try to get us to give her a little bit.

Sometimes we catch her watching TV.

She has learned that I get cranky if she wakes me up on mornings when I'm able to sleep in. Now she checks to see if my eyes are open. If they're open she'll greet me with kisses and wiggles, but if they're closed, she'll lay down and watch me until I open them.

She growls really low and deep when she plays with other dogs.

Tricks Misha can do:

Wave

Stand and balance on her hind legs

Balance a treat on her nose and throw it up and catch it on command

Play dead

Roll over

Sit

Lay down

Stay

Shake

Sometimes if she gets really excited about a treat she will go nuts and go through every single trick that she knows without you even asking her to do anything. So funny!

Things Misha Loves:

Mom and Dad.

People

Food of all kinds, even vegetables

Giving kisses

Kongs filled with treats. She gets a kong in her kennel every morning when we leave for work and school. She likes her kong treats so much that sometimes I think she wishes that we would just leave so that she can have it.

Lounging on the couch.

Sleeping on the bed right in between Ryan and me.

Going for walks. She gets super excited whenever she hears the word "walk"

Playing hide and seek

Running off-leash

Chasing squirrels, birds, bugs, cats, and other dogs

Toys that squeek

Playing with other dogs. She does better if she's playing one on one rather than in large groups

Going to the dog park

Things Misha hates:

Being pet, especially on the head. She'll dodge your hand and try to lick it instead.

Anything that scares her... which is pretty much everything. (hair dryers, cardboard boxes, plastic bags, loud noises...)

The dust buster. She will attack it when it is turned on if she gets the chance

Other dogs that bark at her. She gets really frustrated and will bark back

Other dogs that won't play with her. I think it hurts her lil feelings.

Being yelled at. She's extremely sensitive. If you even look at her wrong she'll put her ears and tail down and then come over and try to butter you up with kisses. It's like she's apologizing or something. Cracks me up!
