Grandma Lori is head over heals in love with our little Emmy June. Honestly, everyone in our family is, but Grandma Lori is probably the most obsessed with her (aside from Mommy, of course). If I don't send her a picture everyday, you can bet she's texting me asking where her daily Emmy pic is. Even though she was in Portland for 3 weeks just after Emmy was born and we have our trip to Disney World coming up in January, she just couldn't stand to go any longer without seeing her precious granddaughter, so she flew Emmy and I home for a visit.
This was my first time flying with Emmy by myself. I was pretty nervous about it. Emmy does not like to be in a stroller or carrier - she cries if she is not being held- so I decided to hold her as we made our way through the airport in order to keep her happy. It worked like a charm, but was a lot to juggle and by the end of the day my arms were killing me because she is so heavy! As usual, Emmy did fantastically on the plane rides. On the way to Denver, we just happened to end up with an empty seat next to us which was SO nice because I was able to lay her down on the seat after she fell asleep. We weren't quite so lucky on the flight back to Portland, but we sat next to a really nice lady and Emmy slept the entire flight! Emmy certainly gets a lot of attention in public places and airports and airplanes are no exception. Everyone comments on how darling she is and how well-behaved and happy she is. She puts on a good show! ;)

We had such a great time in Colorado! I am really happy we were able to go, especially since we don't get to go home for Christmas this year. We got to do some Christmas things while we were there so it almost felt like we were able to be home for the holidays. We got to do some Christmas shopping and treat making, play games with the family, go out to eat to some of my favorite places, have a delicious Christmas dinner with Uncle Jason and his family, and get together with Grandma Laura and Grandpa Jim, Erin and Mario and the kids, Grandpa Joe, Grandma Shirley and Bill, Grandma Barbara, Christie and her kids, and Kelsey.

Presley made Emmy a scarf! How cute is that?!

Grandma Lori and a few others got to hear Emmy laugh for the first time. Ryan and I had heard Emmy laugh a few times before, but it had been a while. She has the cutest little belly laugh ever! Tickling just under her collarbones elicits the best laughs, but too much tickling makes her sad. It is a very delicate balance! Since we got home, Emmy has laughed a few more times, but they are still a little difficult to come by. Emmy... your daddy and I are more than ready for those laughs to become a regular part of our day. Any time now, my dear!!
As always, we were bummed when our trip came to an end, but at the same time were glad to get back to Ryan. Daddy sure does miss his little girl when she's away. He required multiple pictures everyday the whole time we were gone. So precious.
